The cap matters
as much as the mark.
A patch sits on a shaped surface. Discuss the cap blank before judging the whole product from a flat logo.
Construction choices below are questions for review, not a list of stocked options or guaranteed performance.
- Profile & crown
- Describe the silhouette the club prefers. Ask about crown shape and available front-panel space rather than assuming all blanks fit the same patch.
- Fit & closure
- Who is the cap intended for? Clarify the fit range and closure of a proposed blank. “Adjustable” by itself does not establish a suitable fit.
- Color & fabric
- Share the school palette and intended use. Ask how the blank color, thread and patch ground will be reviewed together.
- Blank identification
- Before approval, record the proposed blank or agreed specification. If it changes, review the patch placement and overall look again.
Placement is a decision
See it on
the crown.
Ask for the proposed width, height and position relative to the cap’s seams and brim. A centered graphic in a flat file is not a complete placement instruction.
- How does the patch outline meet the crown’s curve?
- Does important artwork cross or sit near a seam?
- What attachment method is being proposed?
- What reference will both sides use to approve placement?

Review the selected blank, fit, patch scale, color relationship and position together. Note what remains unresolved.
Agree the sample question
If your club requires a physical sample, ask whether one can be arranged and confirm cost, timing and approval implications separately. Sampling is not automatically included.
